How do I install a Jupiter Science Water ionizer?
If you want it to sit on your kitchen bench it's a ten minute installation by anyone. Basically, you attach it to your tap by unscrewing the aerator from the end of your tap, and replace it with the Jupiter combo aerator and diverter. Attach two hoses to the Ionizer and plug it in.
If you have chosen to install it undersink it's a bit harder, and needs a plumber. You'll receive a full undersink kit along with detailed instructions for your plumber.
Is alkaline water good for me?
We are not permitted nor do we want to make therapeutic claims, we can only refer to the list of people who have reported health changes to us, usually related to the easing of symptoms of acid-related complaints.

What about this "Official Japanese Government Report" that said water alkalizers had very little neutralising property?
It is not an official government report but a report by a quasi-government committee. It studied a total of five water alkalizers, most secondhand, in a test that is unscientifically based. None of the alkalizers used in the test exist today. They were very primitive by today's standards. We recommend you get a copy of the report and read it very carefully. Oh, and it is now twelve years old .
At the time, the report was commissioned because many companies were using multilevel marketers to sell their alkalizers.
As is usual when non-experts sell scientifically based systems, claims were being made that had no real basis- just to make a sale. Consumer complaints mentioned in the report where overwhelmingly related to this problem with a miniscule number related to problems with the systems themselves.
Dr Andrew Weil (USA) says health claims made by water alkalizer sellers are bogus, is this true?
Our supplier emailed Dr Weil many times about this claim to ask him if he had actually seen any clinical evidence to support his claim. They received no reply.
There are practitioners who believe that the body still is able to balance its own pH. Certainly, in times when we ate more alkaline foods, this might have been so. However a study of almost 1,000 Americans by Dr Linda Frassetto of the University of California in 1999 has turned this old idea on its head. She found the opposite; that we are now storing acid in our body fat because we have become incapable of eliminating the increased tide of acid wastes that we are now assailed with. This is an evolutionary change never before seen in our history.

What is the difference between "balanced water" and alkaline water?
There is no such thing as "balanced water". It is a myth created by a water system seller whose system cannot alkalize on demand. All water has its own pH or acid/alkaline value.
Are Water alkalizers safe for gastric problems?
Our suppliers have delivered far in excess of 1000 systems in Australia. Only one case of stomach problem has been reported. The user was refunded her purchase money and advised to seek medical advice.
Some users have reported cessation of heartburn and other gastric problems.
What advantages does ionized water have over reverse osmosis or distillation?
Unlike Reverse Osmosis (RO) and distillation, which remove all minerals - leaving the water dead and acidic - ionized water concentrates health giving alkaline minerals like magnesium and calcium, after removing harmful contaminants. Water from RO and distillation is very acid (pH 4.5-6.5) and so contributes to the over acidity of our bodies. Alkaline water helps counteract acid / alkaline imbalance. Because RO and Distilled waters are mineral deficient and strongly acid, there are warnings from a number of physicians not to drink them on a sustained basis. While RO and distilled waters are strongly oxidizing, alkaline ionized water is a proven powerful antioxidant, equivalent to fresh squeezed orange juice (without the sugar).
Having been completely demineralized, RO and distilled water and most bottled water are understandably flat tasting. The tastiness of water from Jupiter ionizers is one of its most immediate qualities: it brings delighted responses from everyone! Along with this go superior hydrating qualities due to the ionization. This ionization is also what happens in nature when water is allowed to bounce over rocks and waterfalls.
Finally, let's compare the ongoing costs: In home RO water is approximately 20% more expensive than ionized water. In home distillation is 700 - 1000% more expensive than ionized water. Bottled water is more expensive than RO or distilled water.

Can I store the water? For how long?
Yes, alkaline ionized water is best kept in an airtight glass or quality plastic container. It can be refrigerated or kept in a cool place. Avoid storage in metal, especially aluminum containers. The alkaline properties will be retained for 1-2 weeks, but they are strongest when fresh (within the first 3 days). The antioxidant properties start to diminish after 18-24 hours. So for the best benefits, drink it within a day or so. If using plastic please check to see that the plastic container used is good quality. Bottled water is usually stored in cheap plastic that leaches chemicals.

What can I use the acid water for?
Acid ionized water is destructive to bacteria and is astringent. As a result it has found widespread application commercially in: nurseries, surgeries, food preparation areas, sprout and wheatgrass growers, florists, hospitals, etc. In the home it is an excellent cleansing and sterilizing agent, with uses in the kitchen, for hair and skin care, extending the life of flowers, promoting plant growth and many others.
It is excellent for all manner of skin complaint. Our suppliers use it as an astringent face wash last thing at night, fill their fountain with it, find it excellent for acne, sores, bench top and more. They collect it in the sink and after rinsing the dishes, dip them into the acid water to sterilize them before putting them away. They also put it onto pot plants because it closely resembles rainwater.

Do you have commercial water ionizers?

How long will an Ionizer's filter typically last?
One filter produces about 1000 gallons (or about 3,800 liters) of water. We estimate for an average family of four with average daily consumption using treated water, a filter will last about 8-9 months.
Can I use the ionizers with well water?
Our water ionizers can be used with most well water with the right side equipment.
The two most common problems found in well water are hydrogen sulfide (with a rotten-egg-like sulfur smell) and high iron or calcium content. Very high calcium levels in the water can potentially cause scale build up. Both of these conditions can be remedied with the proper pre-filters, which we can supply with your Ionizer. We also strongly recommend using a 0.01M filter in your ionizer (only USD$60 more).
We highly recommend your water be tested for organisms, nitrates, nitrites, TDS, pH, hardness and any other known local issues.

Do I need a special nozzle to attach it to the sink?
Your water ionizer comes with an adapter kit which will fit most traditional outlets but will not fit some of the designer taps which have pull out handles with a flexible hose.
